Today we say goodbye to beautiful Puerto Rico. We will head southeast to St Croix, where we will spend the coming week. The weather will not be favorable for us to do a crossing until then.
There's a saying in the cruising world, "write your plans in the sand at low tide". You never know what's coming and when you may need to change your plans for whatever reason. Well our plans have once again changed. We will not be going to Curacao at this point. We will still be going south, but we will go to Grenada instead. We are tired of beating into the wind and we would like to spend some time in the Caribbean. If we were to go to Curaçao, we would have to beat back to the Caribbean islands and travel past Venezuela, neither of which we want to do.
So for now we will write those plans in the sand at low tide. I'm learning to be less rigid and go with the flow more. It isn't easy, but hopefully I will get better at it.
