So the good news is that Driftwood and Turbulence have been able to continue work on our boat. Turbulence came and took the boom and the mast off so that Driftwood cans fix the compression post problem.
The boom has been removed and now sits on the deck.
It was very interesting watching them take the mast down.
Our mast is now under the boat and Turbulence will do a thorough inspection of the standing and running rigging.
Driftwood has come to start working on the compression post. But first the inside of the boat needs some more disassembly.
So now for the bad news. Our main halyard was literally hanging on by a thread so it needs to be replaced. The large shroud swedge at the top of the mast is cracked and must be replaced. Several of the main sail cars are missing bearings and need to be replaced. So far that's all, but it's only 11 am so we'll see what happens by the end of the day.
All in all it's very disheartening. We feel like we will never leave this marina and we are very disappointed in the product Lagoon has put out. After all, it's only 4 years old. I get that it's a production boat, but come on man, they should have a little pride in their work and their product. You'd think it was made in China.
Wow- I'd be pissed too... well hopefully after this you will be able to sail off into all the sunsets you want without any issues!
Total Bullshit! I'm sorry you all have to endure this.... I hope the replacement parts and work will stand the test of time!!
